A leader in establishing standards for Canada's construction industry, ULC engaged WK Lim Architect Inc.

to provide a new "face" to the organization which would signal its entry into the new millenium, and the fundamental expansion of its operations further to an association with UL. Physically constrained in space by existing structures, WK Lim extended the principal staircase beyond the boundaries of the existing lobby,

connecting it back to the second floor with a wood panelled bridge. A new two storey curtain wall system with cantilevered canopy was added, as were new finishes throughout the lobby, reception and waiting area.
